Edenfound - Guest Post

I spent the first 18 years of my life in a small, sleepy (boring) town in the middle of Bedfordshire. Although I’d been abroad a few times, I hadn’t really ventured up North very much and so my knowledge of the North was mainly gleaned through things I saw on telly – whippets, coal mines and flat caps - so when I found myself enrolling at Huddersfield University I found I had much to learn. Now, over a decade later I couldn’t possibly imagine moving away from here.

Yorkshire is truly God’s own county and as we move from Summer (apparently there was one inbetween all the rain) to Autumn I find myself getting excited. I love how Yorkshire looks this time of year. Outdoors the scenery is breathtaking and as for inside, well, no one does cosy and snug like us! (I promise you I haven’t been sponsored by the Yorkshire tourist board, honest!)

Anyway, talking of Snug, there is a shop near me that goes by that very name (did you see what I did there? Subtle is my middle name). For weeks I’d gazed longingly in through the window wanting to go in, but as a mother of 2 children under 4 I thought it best that we stayed outside. However, on a day that I found myself childless I finally got my chance to go in. The whole shop is a treasure trove of pretty things for the home as well as gorgeous gifts.

If I was to list my favourite things in the shop I would soon run out of space, so here is a sneak peek of what you can find:

Wedding gifts galore!

‘No Dad Dancing’ sign is a must for my house.

Have you got any gorgeous independent shops like this near you? If you ever find yourself at a loose end (and without toddlers) in my neck of the woods I highly recommend that you pay a visit to this one!

Happy shopping folks!!
